Hot water and space heating
Sakarinmäki school, Finland
The solar thermal system was built to produce domestic hot water and heating energy for a large school complex. During the first year of operation, about 80% of the total energy consumption was produced from renewable energy sources – geothermal heat pumps and solar collectors.
Depending on the energy need, the solar thermal system is supplying heat:
1. directly to DHW & heating,
2. to heat pumps to improve COP-value,
3. to heat wells to store energy for later use.
